What it does
A document is self-contained: what it needs travels inside it. Copy the file to another machine, or send it to a playout server, and the fonts and pictures go too.
Arial is always listed as system · default. It is the typeface used when nothing else is chosen, and it is not carried in the document.
Use it

Bring something in with +:
| Item | What it takes |
|---|---|
| Font (TTF / OTF) | A typeface |
| Image (PNG / JPEG) | A picture |
| Sound (WAV / MP3 / FLAC) | A sound, for an event to play. You can also drop the file on the stage. OGG and AAC are refused with the reason: airZ Engine cannot play them |
| Artwork (SVG) | Vector artwork, as editable shapes |
| Layered artwork (PSD) | A layered file, as a group per layer |
| Animation (Lottie) | An animation, as shapes and a timeline |
| New script (Luau) | An empty script to write |
| Script from the library… | One of the scripts that ship with the editor |
You can also drop pictures straight onto the stage.
After an SVG, PSD or Lottie import, anything that could not come across is named. One thing is named in the notice. Two or more open the import report, with the whole list.
After importing a picture, if the artboard has any shapes, the editor asks which one to put it on: shapes light up and the pointer carries A shape for "<name>". Click a shape to texture it, or press Esc to leave the picture in Assets for later.
Put an asset to work from its row menu:
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Place on the artboard | Adds an element drawing it |
| Place in the 3D viewport | Adds it to the 3D scene |
| Add an object that runs it | For a script: an object the script draws |
| Edit script | Opens the script in a tab |
| Replace from a file… | Swaps the file, keeping everything that uses it |
| Save to the library… | For a script: keeps it for other documents |
| Rename, Remove |
Organise by naming: rows group into folders, and renaming a folder renames the group.
What the rows tell you

| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| carried | It arrived inside an imported file. It travels on untouched |
| A padlock on a script | It arrived compiled: its inputs can be changed, its code cannot |
| The size beside a picture | Its pixel size |
Fonts, and sending a document somewhere else

A font is embedded in the document, so a copy of the document is a copy of the font. Where a typeface is licensed rather than free to pass on, that matters to whoever sends the file to a playout server or to another facility. Check before you send.
