Transitions

What CUT, MIX and ANIMATE change, and what they do not.

The top of Rundown Operations: CUT, MIX and ANIMATE, with the pointer over MIX showing its duration of 500 ms

The playout engines do not use this choice. On the engines, airZ Controller plays videos as a cut: a video appears at once when you take it, and is gone at once when you take it out or clear it. Graphics made in airZ Editor bring their own animation in and out, and the transition does not change them either.

CUT, MIX and ANIMATE, at the top of Rundown Operations, change only airZ Controller's own PROGRAM MONITOR: how a background video replaces the background before it there. An overlay video appears at once.

ChoiceOn the Program monitor
CUTThe new background video replaces the old one at once.
MIXThe change is animated over a set time.
ANIMATEThe same as MIX, with a choice of easing.

The monitor can differ from air

With MIX or ANIMATE, the Program monitor shows a fade that air does not: on the engines the change is a cut.

MIX is the default.

Set the length

Point at MIX to show its length in milliseconds, and change it there. The default is 500.

Point at ANIMATE to set its length and its easing: In/Out, Linear, Ease In, Ease Out or Cubic.

Your choice is kept when airZ Controller restarts.
